3D Printing Helps Fix Deformed Leg of Ziggy the Border Collie

Over the last year and a half, since we’ve begun covering the 3D printing industry, we’ve seen so many incredibly animal stories related to this amazing technology. From 3D printed carts for dogs and cats, to 3D printed implants for turtles, we’ve seen it all. One application of 3D printing missing from the animal realm, which is incredibly popular within the human medical community, is that of 3D printed medical models. Medical models of organs, bone structures, and the likes have all been used dozens, or even hundreds of times so that surgeons can adequately plan for complicated procedures on humans, but we haven’t stumbled upon too many stories where the same techniques have been used for man’s best friend, the canine.
