3D Systems’ Revolutionary Mass Manufacturing 3D Printing System is on its Way

Earlier this week we published a very interesting article about the intentions of Google and 3D Systems to print “millions, and hopefully billions” of smartphone modules for Google’s Project Ara. Project Ara has received a ton of media attention over the last several months, as Google sets out to change the way smartphones are made and sold. Having said this, I think the bigger story within the story, is the fact that 3D Systems will be using an entirely new mass manufacturing system, which will rely almost solely on 3D printing.

Autos aus Leichtmaterialien. Künstliche Organe, wo Spenderorgane schwer zu bekommen sind. Die Fantasie der Forscher und Kreativen ist unerschöpflich.

3D printing/additive manufacturing market boom continues

Two new reports out on 3D printing/additive manufacturing reveals some amazing growth rates for that industry. The newly released Wohlers Report 2014 shows that the market for 3D printing, consisting of all products and services worldwide, grew to $3.07 billion in 2013. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 34.9% is the highest in 17 years. The growth of worldwide revenues over the past 26 years has averaged 27%. The CAGR for the past three years (2011-2013) was 32.3%, according to the Wohlers Report.
